Eric is a passionate outdoorsman that grew up in the small town of Custer, WI. While growing up Eric spent much of his time in the outdoors hunting, fishing and exploring with his family. Eric attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where he earned a degree in criminal justice. During his last few years at UWP, Eric discovered a desire for wanting to help others through social work and spent a majority of his schooling focused on the social sciences. Eric truly believes that the model of Northwoods Wilderness Therapy and the unique setting of the outdoors work to heal emotional trauma. Eric is passionate about sharing his love of the outdoors with students in hopes that it will help them on their healing journey by building confidence, self-reliance and team work along with other important life skills. In his free time, Eric enjoys hunting, fishing, coaching youth hockey, canoeing, backpacking, reading, and spending time with his family.
